The NASB 95 is the version quoted this morning.
GOD’s WORD is a blessing every time I read it and I make effort to read it every morning, even if it’s just a couple of scriptures. I prefer to mainly stay in the Gospels because that’s where I find the words of Yeshua/Jesus and He Himself said in John 12:49 – 50:
“For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. “I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
so I believe the words of JESUS/YESHUA to be The WORD OF GOD. This morning I want to bless you with some of Yeshua’s words from Matthew Chapter 15 verses 8 – 11:
‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. ‘BUT IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE PRECEPTS OF MEN.'”
After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them,
“Hear and understand. “It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
Mat 15:17 – 19
“Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? “But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
That covers a lot of ground, doesn’t it?? Evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. Our heart brings forth actions that can draw us closer to GOD and His will for our lives or defile us; push us away from GOD’s will for our lives.
We’ve all sinned. I have sinned and I’ve been guilty of bad actions coming out of my heart but PRAISE GOD, He called me to repentance and obedience and I am not the person I used to be. I believe He calls all of us to repentance and obedience. We’re going to explore what Jesus/Yeshua taught in this blog. I want to explore here publicly what HE taught, what repentance and obedience mean, etc. I expect to be learning right along with anyone that chooses to read this blog and explore with me. This is the first post of It’s a Heart Matter. I’m not trying to teach anyone anything, I’m not a teacher. I just love Jesus/Yeshua and He said something along the lines of “If you love me, you will keep my commands.”
This blog is my testimony to the word that Jesus/Yeshua brought the words of The Father, words of eternal life, words that if allowed into our hearts will make us into new creatures. The old is passed away and all things are new. Praise GOD!!
